"Well, these walking corpses aren't as big a problem as last year. It was pretty startling when my practice cadaver sat up mid-dissection, though." But it hadn't been violent or dangerous. It just wouldn't stay still. And Nadine doesn't mind the suspension of classes for the time being. It's sort of nice, having the free time. Maybe that's why she finds herself so restless and averse to being productive. How often does she have the opportunity to just do nothing of importance? Of course it's appealing.

"But you're right. I really just don't want to work. I don't want to plenty of times, but I still do. Why not just...not, for a change?"

Corpses aren't trying to break down the door. And whatever blight is affecting plants doesn't seem to be in the city water. She's vaguely worried, of course, something's going on. But it's nothing she can do anything about, and nothing seems to be an imminent threat. Why just sit around worrying about things? The world won't end because she has a fun night. Not anymore.

She'd rather lean into Jaskier's arms and tuck herself against him, enjoying the familiar feel and scent of him.
