Entering the Horizon when the Singularity is subjecting them to more of its fluctuations is generally inadvisable--but it becomes fairly apparent that this is not the Singularity, for once. Viktor decides, perhaps inadvisably, that he's going to check on his domain. But whatever is causing all of this has greater power than he realizes, and soon he finds himself trapped.

He tries to find his way out, at least for a time, but the labyrinth quickly becomes disorienting and frustrating and he doesn't make it very far, given his own limitations. That's the most frustrating thing of all--whatever's happening here, it's interfering with his ability to negate his illness, and Viktor exhausts himself fairly quickly.

But, maybe that's fine. Maybe he doesn't have to do anything, because he's been trying very hard for a very long time, and now he's tired. He doesn't know how much time has passed--only that it feels nice, to sit down and rest. Viktor drifts, paying little attention to the shifting maze around him, at least until he hears a voice.

"Jayce--" Viktor doesn't quite perk up, and part of him wonders if he isn't hearing things, but it sounds like it's coming from the other side of the wall. "is that you?"
