Ciri's eyes narrow at her name. He grew up with Yennefer? And Yennefer never saw fit to let Ciri know someone from their world had appeared in Thorne with her? It's not like Castle Thorne is all that large; the Summoned there definitely all know each other, are in much closer proximity than they are in Cadens. She's not buying that Yennefer didn't know or didn't realize. (Maybe that Yennefer simply hadn't told her, though Ciri has to wonder why.)

She presses the flat of her knife harder into his throat. Not upward, not leaning on the sharp edge, but enough to make his windpipe rather uncomfortable.
