I'm from later in our timeline. He was days away from dying, maybe weeks at best, and he told me to destroy the Hexcore. He gave up.

[ The Hexcore he's making now in tandem with the experiments, which he seems to be confident he can actually make work now. And with all the other things here in Abraxas, it's probable that they can actually do it. But Jayce knows what he saw and what he promised and that there is no hope for Viktor. It is easier for him to say now than it was months ago, when he was fresh from it and bleeding internally. But it is no less painful to think about. ]

He saw it with his own eyes in my memory but still ... doesn't believe it, I guess. Once we cure him, he'll probably start talking about how we get back.

[ And Jayce doesn't think he'll hold to the same principle of insisting they have undeniable proof that he goes back cured. It's complicated and very difficult. Jayce is speaking candidly though, it's something he will probably hear if it all works too, later on. ]

That must be daunting though. Outliving all your friends.
