A war. It's far from the first that Steve's heard of from other Summoned here, and he wishes that he could be surprised about it. But this seems to be a common thread through so many of their worlds, and given what the Summoned have been brought here for, it makes sense that soldiers would be prioritized. He heaves out a sigh all the same, sending Garrus a knowing look. He's fought his fair share of battles, and lost his fair share of them too.

He's not sure what to make of it, and he'll leave it to the geniuses with the PhDs to try and figure it out.

If the authorities who summoned them had some control over the time that they brought people from, wouldn't it make more sense to wait until their conflict had ended? It only adds to the theory Steve has that the act of summoning itself is not a precise process, that the mages and technologists here only have so much control.
