[ He can't explain why it bothers him so that Thancred continues to croak behind him. (Is it because it's pulling at an instinctive urge to croak back? Yes. But he's not acknowledging this.)

He swims. The lily pads tempt him. So does a fly that buzzes overhead. He does his best to ignore all of these things. He most certainly is not considering swiping the fly with his tongue and eating it. That would be absurd. But there is something indescribably serene about gliding through the water with ease, as though he were right at home in it.

The frog experience is conflicting. He really fucking hates this.

He's about to learn quick that he will hate even more the experience of turning back. The change leaves him as suddenly as it came; somehow, growing out of his frog form feels worse. He still has one foot in the pond, and the abruptness leaves him unbalanced, tripping onto dry land. Ugh. Fuck.

He glances over his shoulder. Has Thancred changed back, as well? Will he have to put Himeka's friend in his pocket and carry him around for the next while? ]
