Eventually, he loses his footing on a loose stone and nearly goes plummeting back to the ground, but he manages to steady himself using the hand holds. Itβs a minor fright more than anything, but itβs impossible to see how high they are, and he doesnβt want to be the reason Mat goes down as well.
