[ steve realizes, a bit belatedly, how thankful he is that geralt doesn't press any further. not that there is a whole lot of it to uncover, steve's life - relatively speaking - has been pretty easy and pretty boring, and some part of him feels a little ridiculous that this was important enough to show up in the horizon without him wanting it to (this can't be on the same level as being tortured in a russian base...can it?)
instead, they go back to searching, and geralt hums - just loud enough to draw steve's attention to what seems to be a...hole? in the wall? well, that's something. he walks over to stand next to geralt, trying to peer through the hole as well, but he doesn't get a good enough look to really see anything. ]
