"Honestly I've been so focused on the Singularity and its connections to other worlds, and doing whatever it takes in Thorne to get me closer to study it. For those answers, if we ever can get them."
Istredd is a singularly (haha) focused type of person, while he is very smart and knows a great deal about many topics, he can get caught up in one idea or subject for years. It means he sometimes misses big gaps of things or doesn't consider big picture problems when fixated. Normally he would say this still doesn't really matter to him, except his domain is being singled out. And the gods have to be connected to the Singularity for that to matter.
"But the war may really not be what matters in the grand scheme of things. This is what matters. The gods may be what matter."
It actually wouldn't be a huge surprise if the stupid wars between stupid mortals are hugely insignificant. Istredd always believes that. But being able to get other people to shift around their priorities is going to be a tall order, even amongst the Summoned. The ground shakes beneath them again, harder this time, and he frowns, focusing on Lucifer this time instead.
"Thank you. For getting me."
For worrying enough about his lack of presence and then carrying his body back to the room, apparently. It's very unusual for someone to put that much effort into noticing him.
We can start to wrap on this one i think!
