She's compartmentalizing at her hardest right now, so preoccupied with the party that she can't focus on anything she experienced, but even so, there is a cloud that seems to shadow over her laughter. Like she's just holding it all together for as long as she can before she breaks down. And that is, more or less, her plan. Present a happy facade until no one's looking, then fall apart. But that's for later.

Cloud or no, her glee is completely genuine. She loves Jesper and his costumes, and she is riding the high of accomplishing something she put a lot of effort into. She is also riding the high of a lot of mood-enhancing drugs and drink, which helps quite a bit.

"It's the only way," she says, perhaps a bit sagely for the absurdity of the situation, then beams and gently swats his leg. "You're joinin' an exclusive club. People who get it."

She gestures vaguely around the room. Well over half of these people come from worlds where they're acquainted with Halloween, and yet they settle for the easiest options. Only Jaskier has otherwise lived up to her expectation, had taken to the concept like a duck to water last year. Getting it is clearly a big deal to her.

"But don't you dare let anyone call you by my name in bed tonight."
