"Endless unknown opportunity can be scary, yes. But you don't need to have it all figured out today. Give yourself time to process everything."
Jesper is an empathic person which means he has glowing moments of true wisdom when it comes to feelings, outside of the times he's being ridiculous or laughing instead of thinking. But he props himself up on an elbow to look at Sylvain, shrugging when he talks about Matthias. Maybe not the most emotionally mature thing to do there, but it's more that he is considering what to say before continuing.
"I didn't think that people could change, not to the extent he did. He was brainwashed from childhood, an enemy to my kind, they're the ones who hunt and kill us. And he did that to a friend of mine, Nina, or he was supposed to. But he fell in love with her instead."
One of those actual love conquers all stories that usually seem like they're just in books and tales, but he saw it with his own eyes. It's still a little surreal, but he is glad Nina isn't here. That she didn't have to lose him all over again.
"It wasn't just that he loved her so he tolerated everything else, he really did change his mind and saw how he'd been wrong. He fought to do something about it. And then he died, killed by his own people for it."
