He shifts briefly as her efforts result in refreshed pain that had previously been dulled by time and his own temporary care, but then holds himself steady. It isn't the worst he's felt and this is necessary to proper recovery.

"Perhaps it isn't a matter of time alone that prompts such improvements, but a willingness to delve deep into available resources in addition to eagerness to chase new discoveries," he suggests. "An open mind yields better results than one ruled by existing assumptions."

It seems obvious to him. But he knows from experience that many value the prejudices of their existing worldview more than they do change that could benefit all.
