Maybe being here is a boon, in that it's time to really assess what's been going on recently. Really get a handle on everything that's happened and everything she's been feeling lately. Now that she's removed from the situation and can have a cooler head.
"I'm sure he'd be happy to hear you say that. But you're right, he was wrong - just like everyone was, about the undercity. But hopefully there'll be time to make things right again."
There's a lot she doesn't know about, simply because she wasn't there. Things with the council often out of her grasp entirely and not just because she's been in the undercity until recently. It's a separate world really and one that she's not currently invited to. Though if she had her way, she'd never be involved in politics like that.
"A city is more it's people than it's buildings. As long as we have that, everything else we can fix." Caitlyn answers confident despite not knowing just how bad the situation is. But that much, she believes to be true. Places can be rebuilt, it's the people who live there that are priceless. "I'll do everything I can to help, but you already knew I would."
It'll be nice, to put her skills to use on something more hopeful. After everything recently, rebuilding a city would be kind of nice. A chance to help make something, instead of...well, let's leave all that in the past for now.
"I'm glad for you Jayce, truly." Even if she hasn't seen them together, just the way he looks when he talks about it is enough. It's a side to Jayce she's never really seen before. "You deserve to be happy, both of you."
All thoughts that might have been stirred by the talk of partnerships are scattered by the next revelation and her face turns solemn. "Sick? I take it this isn't a recent thing?" Her mind already racing with possibilities. Is this something she should have seen before now? She's not particularly close to Viktor, so maybe not... but it feels like a short coming somehow. "The magic here, the healing you said. Is that why you're working on it?" Connecting the dots is her specialty after all. "If there's anything I can do, anything at all to help. You know I will, right?"
