[ Amos is silent for a long while after she says her piece. Maybe it works that way for most people, but thing is. He doesn't really have a self to be stripped of to begin with. That still was him in the Horizon. He didn't know why what appealed to him in there did, just that it did. Other than freely running his mouth off to her he probably wouldn't have acted any differently in there, even if he had had his memories.

It's not like he needs to say that, if she wants to think he's a different person out here. That's her prerogative. But it does leave him without much of a response, regardless.

He looks her in the eye for the last part. And, finally, he figures out what to say. ]

Good.

[ ... He probably needs to say more than just that. A blink, a pause. ]

I don't wanna get into any of it, either. Far as I know, you're a teacher and your world ended. [ Except, despite her protestations, what he saw in her domain lines up perfectly with that. Regardless, ] Rest of it's none of my business.

[ So that's another point in Nadine's favour, as far as he's concerned: respecting each other's privacy was never even a question.

The sweet roll still feels odd in his hand. He's not hungry. He's not going to be hungry, because this little awkward dance done, he still feels plenty on edge. Amos swallows, thick. Can still feel the need to pick a fight, to explode. Not at her, she doesn't deserve it, but. ]

Anything going on upstairs after we got back from our forced trip?

[ Still ready to beat someone; getting a timetable to look forward to it would be nice, or is he just gonna be stuck in limbo and have to force something on his own. ]
