Michael's probably the wrong person to be judging what appearances are and aren't imposing. Very little threatens an archangel. The most intimidating sight he can fathom would be his Father in the guise of a short, untidy-looking man with a beard. Istredd looks like any other human to him, if a little out of his element on the water.
"He's told you at least some of it, then," he says, sighs, and turns to look out over the ocean. If only he could expect such loyalty of the acquaintances he's made. "No, I'm sure he doesn't. Why make enemies of someone you might instead make use of?"
Lucifer's never been very keen on fighting him, even at his strongest. There is a vast gulf between that and having good intentions. He expects Lucifer would still betray him without a second thought if it were to save himself.
