[ They both have the same idea, it seems: despite escaping immediate notice especially once there's the sound of a door shutting, whatever they have the potential to overhear outweighs any other risks. Where they're standing is less easy to explain away compared to wandering a hall or supposedly checking out an empty room for some peace and quiet, but he's not inclined to move. When he glances across the short distance between them and she gestures for quiet, Claude nods once in confirmation. No arguments here.

The same can't be said for whatever's happening from inside, though it seems the weather's kicked up a bit outside and the occasional breeze jostles just enough to make it difficult to hear the complete thoughts, what's in between them lost so full connections aren't there even when he leans a bit more towards the window while still out of sight to overhear them. Or maybe it's because Claude's also slightly distracted by scanning for escape plans since if anyone looks out from the other side of the courtyard they're standing in? They'll be in plain view.

A gust of wind stronger than the rest blows the curtains inwards in a way which betrays the window is open and when the sound of talking stops to suggest it's been noticed, Claude holds his breath. With a quick wave to get his companion's attention, he points to an open window on a wall perpendicular to them as a suggestion. It's dark inside meaning it might be empty, and it'd be better than being discovered if they're on the verge of it. ]
