Viktor's glance to Alucard is purposeful, something unspoken between them. Besides Jayce, the dhampir knows best of all what they're trifling with--that is, dangerous magics they don't fully understand. He'd done as promised in the Horizon, tried to invent every worst-case scenario and run through as many contingencies as possible, but all of that was only as good as their own imaginations.

If they need to shut the whole thing down for any reason, Alucard will be the one to do it. He can only hope it doesn't come to that.

The infusion hits him not long after Alucard begins, and in the necessary concentration is immediately invigorating. It's not going to eliminate all pain, but it should keep him stable enough to withstand the worst of it. Keep him from going into shock. Viktor sucks in air through the cannula and gives a nod. "Okay, let's go."
