[Altaïr had considered coming by sooner, once he'd heard what had happened and, more importantly, that Viktor had survived it. Mostly, Altaïr is impressed; he's no doctor and he hadn't even known just how ill the man had apparently been, but the fragments of explanation he'd gotten were enough to make it clear that this could have, and perhaps should have, been the end for the man. That he survived and perhaps may even thrive so no small thing.
But while he respects and even likes Viktor, Altaïr knows they're not close enough for an unsolicited visit, and he definitely can't pepper the man with questions, so he'd waited a bit. Today seemed as good a time as any to check in.
