Thancred isn't going to chase after someone who clearly needs a moment to decompress and come down from what had been a rather involved event. Planning this sort of thing is harder than it might look at first glance, and he's gathered that it's also outside of Istredd's comfort zone.

He lingers afterward, both to finish up any conversations and because Urianger certainly isn't ready to go yet. Not that Thancred couldn't just leave him to his devices and return to the real world and go to bed, but he needs some time to process everything he heard.

None of the books that he opens are particularly complete, but that doesn't surprise him. He would hardly say he's unread but he doesn't have anything memorized, unlike some people. When he spots Istredd after he reappears, he shuts the book and returns it to the shelf, turning toward him with a crooked smirk.

"I told you, you're perfectly welcome to toss us out of here. All in all, though, I'd say that went rather well."
