She gives a laugh at his comment about 'deeply paranoid people', looking amused at the concept. "Maybe you just attract the type." Or Thorne just makes them all more this way, that's just as likely. Then again, she can't remember a time when she wasn't a deeply paranoid person, and she wondered if it was the same for the people he was numbering on that list.

"For deeply paranoid people, adjusting to the mindset of working on a team where unity is actually possible... it's not an easy shift in thinking. Trust doesn't come easily - especially if that's already blown up in their faces." Which is often what drives them to be so deeply paranoid in the first place. Speaking from experience? Oh, absolutely. There were few that could have gotten her to the point of being a team player like that - Steve had absolutely been a unique exception to this for her. He'd gotten farther in a short time than all her friends and partners had managed in years.

"I don't think you're a harbinger, you're just seeing the same things I am. That several of us are." Days like this, she really wishes she could be an optimist once in a while.
