room 7: [ Kiryu's used to sharing a room with people, given his prison experience, but he's never shared such a nice one. Hell, he's never had such a nice one, even during the Bubble.

It means he's meticulously neat and tidy, and that he's very careful to both keep to his space and respect that of the others. He can't help, however, that this is the place where he's supposed to sleep and he doesn't often sleep with his day clothes on. So it's very likely that one of his roommates may get a look at his back and, by extension, the large and intricate tattoo on it. (They might also catch him moving his slee to the floor with some blankets because he can sort of handle a western style cot but something like this? Too soft.)

They'll also probably catch him at his morning exercise routine, which isn't much but he's getting on in years now. Gotta maintain if you want to keep the muscle.

And, of course, if he sees you? Well, if he knows you, you'll be greeted. If you haven't met yet? Gotta do those introductions, after all. ]
the dungeons: [ Kiryu's priority in these days are those in the dungeons. Perhaps it his own experiences in being imprisoned, and perhaps it's the fact that he knows for a fact (in his mind) that the reasoning for their imprisonment is absolute garbage, but he just can't make himself care about the concerns of an 'honored guest'. Not when there are people below them, suffering the same disconnection and loss of their world as they are with quite a lot less support.

That's why he's going to go between the cells and ask if anyone needs anything, check in to see how people are doing, and (quietly) try to make sure that the guards haven't been abusing anyone. The one thing he has on hand consistently is cigarettes, and thankfully, that little fire spell he's learned is the perfect way to light one up for someone.

around: [ Kiryu isn't the sort to make promises and not keep them, which is why most of his time during these days is spent dealing with the servants, the various people going about their jobs, and he uses every ounce of experience in helping the denizens of Kamurocho to find every potential tasks that someone might need help with and help them out with it. And if he plies those favors and assistance into the kind of supplies he needs for those in the dungeons, so be it: everyone wins. So if you spot him carrying things, doing dishes, watching children, or otherwise doing some menial, random task for someone? Well, he's not going to stop but he will happily chat with you while he's at it.

And if you just happen to be wandering? That means you might find him just about anywhere, the Tower etched on his clothes. If the cloth is thin enough or rucked up in anyway, you might notice another design on his actual skin. ]

You know- [he gestures with his breakfast roll, as if Kiryu hadn't said a thing] it's not that I'm not used to waiting on Sit-rep, but this is getting ridiculous. It's Transludent all over again.

[Homelander eyes the man sitting across from him.]

All they need to do, is get my powers back online and I'll handle it. I don't even know why they hauled any of you here. Is this because it's a lesson about team work?

Transludent?

[ He hears the rest of the comments, and he frowns a little because he's not sure what 'powers' the man could have that would solve every problem. He decides to be polite again. ]

I don't know what they're trying to accomplish. None of the ways they've gone about accomplishing things makes sense to me.

A team-mate. We lost him too soon.

[Homelander's face twists in to something that might be grief. It's hard to tell, because he smiles right after, eating his roll.]

No? We were brought here to keep Thorne safe. I'm guessing that means watching out for those degenerates in the dungeon and making sure the citizens here are safe?

[He shrugs.]

[ Kiryu's never claimed to be a clever man. It's just not his claim to fame. At the same time... ]

But the people in the dungeon were brought here by the same mages. Why bring protectors for a threat you brought?

[ Also he's not a fan of calling them degenerates, considering one of his best friends is down there. Albeit a very much younger version of him. ]

Maybe they're- [Homelander chews his roll, wiping his fingers on the napkin.] Mistakes. Like, how the first pancake always comes out weird. Maybe they'rethose pancakes, and I'm. Well, I'm the Homelander. They wouldn't need to keep bringing people in after they found me.

[ He’s not all that familiar with pancakes, but he does enough cooking that he can kind of figure out what the meaning is. ]

That seems like… a lot of ‘weird pancakes’.

[ The man’s ego is… confusing. Especially in this situation. ]

You think they were looking for you specifically?

I think they were looking for someone exactly like me. [He flashes another PR smile, with too much teeth and just a slight edge of- something.]

I'm the greatest superhero the world has ever seen.

[ The PR smile stuff doesn’t really work on him, but he’s not offended or even really bothered by it. Homelander is not even remotely the weirdest person he’s ever spoken to, even in his own world.

He just sees this as a talk between two adults and while that might be reflexive, it’s not really anything worth acknowledging. ]

…then they aren’t very good at looking. I haven’t really seen anyone else like you here among those brought here.

No one has ever seen anyone like me. Not here, and not back home.

[Pride in his voice and Homelander tilts his head, grabbing another roll.]

That doesn't explain you? What can you do?

I have experience in running several different lucrative businesses. Driving vehicles, professionally and for racing. I've worked as a professional spearfisher, run a baseball team, and I've also run an orphanage for a number of years.

[ The part where he's literally the strongest fighter in Japan's criminal underworld and takes on whole armies by himself on the regular? He'll leave that out. Instead, what he'll say is- ]

I'm not too bad in a fight, I guess.

So... you're either someone angling for politics, or you get bored. And I mean bored a lot.

[He doesn't look like a fisherman, but what does Homelander know. He doesn't know anyone else who likes to fish. Mostly that's because mentioning it, tends to make The Deep cry a little and no one wants to see that. The last time the mess hall served baked fish, the guy had left in tears, muttering about having known it since it hatched.]

Get in to a lot of fights running the orphanage?

More than you would expect.

[ Which is what happens when you're him. But he shakes his head at the one comment. ]

I don't enjoy politics. I've dealt with a few politicians and government types. [ Another headshake. ] My life has taken a lot of twists and turns, that's all.

[ He decides to turn things back to Homelander for... well, a lot of reasons. ]

What is it that you do, exactly? For work, I mean.
