Maybe -
"You want try?"
Unfortunately, he does not wait for an answer. In an instant of concentration, a hand-sized starfish pops! into existence, floating in the air between them.

"Oh, eww. Yuck. Naaaah. It looks totally gross and bad, like, what the actual fuck is up with that great big fucking eye?" it's gross as all hell, which at the very least makes it interesting, although not interesting enough that she'd be willing to try and eat it. Maybe if it wasn't staring straight at her it would have seemed more palatable.
The corridor reaches an aperture that leads them into a vast open space, metal grating running around the high points of the room, and upon which they're currently standing. Below is the concrete expanse of the training room, bare save for strip lighting overhead and a row upon row of weapons lining the walls. Mostly swords, but there's some offhand equipment up there too. Knuckle knives and daggers and the like. She's still not quite over the starfish enough to start giving him the grand tour, though.
"I mean, thanks? I appreciate the gesture? But you can go ahead and eat that one if you wanna."
no subject
Unbothered by the reaction, he plucks it from the air and eats it in one bite on her suggestion, looking down once he reaches the edge of the grating with renewed interest - although it reminds him a little bit of the prison place, which makes him frown.
If there are stairs to get down, he doesn't seem to notice. Instead, he jumps straight to the concrete floor with a quiet thud, and begins inspecting the rows of weapons on display.

He's just standing there though, like no effort was taken on his part at all, and so her eyebrows hike hard toward her hairline and she whistles low through her teeth. Badass. She descends the stairs like a normal person, and jogs over to catch up with him.
"What do you think? We've got your longswords which are my personal favourite, a bunch of rapiers over there which, okay, I know they look like dumb little needles but when you see someone who really knows how to use one it's kinda breath-taking. You've got your sabres and your broadswords...you wanna hold one?" there's a spark of excitement in her voice because yes, this girl loves swords so much she could friggin' marry them.
no subject
He's not too interested in those, though. Instead, when she's done explaining he points to the broadsword.
"Biiig."
That one. He will hold that one. It'll still probably look smaller in his mitts than the average person, more like a short sword? But he waits politely for her to hand it to him before just grabbing it.
no worries if this is too old and you'd rather stick with new things!
For now though she hands it off to him, watches with evident anticipation. "You like?"
I'm good either way! He will wander off eventually...
Lifting it a little bit, he starts poking at sharp end between his teeth like a massive toothpick - removing bits of alien starfish from earlier.
"Like!" he agrees happily, speaking around the blade.
cool!
"I mean yeah, sure, that's one use for it I guess," she says, very patiently in her opinion, "but they're really made for like, hitting shit. Not me, though. I wanna make that part clear. We're on the same side, so we don't need to hit each other with anything. It's for hitting like...bad guys and monsters. You know, if they attack you."
no subject
"I no hurt friend," he says slowly.
Bad guys and monsters is not particularly instructive or specific enough for him, though.
"Bad guy where?"
What do you want him to hit?
no subject
"Those guys over there are totally planning to kick our asses if we don't kick theirs first."
