[ She glances over at him curiously as she approaches, pausing a step or so away from him. ]
Just after them, I think. Close enough that everyone was still all up in arms over it. Why?

Making sure I remembered correctly. It's easy to lose track of time.
[ Not just here, although it feels especially true lately. He shrugs at the plant, and lets out a light huff. ]
I'm not much of a gardener. [ If she was wondering what he's doing out here. ] But this is simple enough even for me to do. And - it's important, in a small way. To help fix what was destroyed, if we can.
[ Basawar couldn't. There are entire parts of the continent where nothing could grow anymore. It's not something he wants to see happen here. ]

[ She wanders over to the tree he'd been... praying over? She's not entirely sure, but that's what it had looked like anyway. Then again, she had no idea what religion might look like in other worlds. She reaches out, brushing fingers over one of the branches. ]
You're not wrong. And I'm sure those most affected by the fires will appreciate the effort. [ She'd seen some of that devastation recently - she could only imagine how bad it had been there in the moment. ] I don't think a genuine offer of help could ever be considered small.
