After some shopping for proper attire, Obi-Wan makes the trip to Libertas and offers what is, in his mind, an entirely appropriate contribution to the festivities. Finding and preparing a painted stave to act in place of a lightsaber is simple enough, as is preparing a modest pile of small bags filled with sand for a portion of his demonstration. Blindfolded throughout he replicates one of many intense, acrobatic katas, the painted stave twirling in his hand to the beat of drums in intricate patterns, diverting blows both imagined and real. At one point in the demonstration he does signal for those that lined up to toss the bags of sand at him to do so with all their might- and he diverts them neatly, even while blindfolded.
A show of grace, athleticism, and truly- it is fun to show off a little what he is capable of with very low stakes. There is no battle that requires perfect focus, no barrage of blaster fire, merely music and laughter and the sheer comfortable relief of being alive, having survived something terrible.
And for now? That is enough.
Dancing
After his demonstration, Obi-Wan takes a moment to drink, observe, and learn the beats and rhythms of the dances common to this world. Quite a few of them are familiar enough for him to catch on to the appropriate motions and once he feels comfortable doing so? He dives in with enthusiasm- glad to relax and to meet others that are enjoying the music and the evening. He even goes far enough to coax a few wall flowers away from the edges of the dance floor, inviting them with a twirl of his cape, a wink, and a smile.
