It's not that he doesn't want it; he does. It's just that this is probably the first real gift he's ever gotten. Not because it was something his father felt obligated to give him, not something that would benefit the giver. Just something that Jesper saw that he wanted and wanted to give to him. Jesper wanted him to have something that would make him happy.

He looks up at Jesper and suddenly all the reasons he's not kissing him don't matter because it's all he wants to do. Because he feels like if he doesn't kiss him right now every emotion that's welling up inside of him is just going to burst out, so really, kissing him is the best idea. He doesn't even think about it as he places the flute back down on the table next to him and moves into Jesper's personal space reaching up to place his hands on his cheeks and pull his mouth down to his even as he's leaning up to capture his lips in a sweet kiss.

He keeps it short, aware they are in the middle of a market. "No one has ever-." He cuts himself off because that sort of sounds pathetic. "Thank you."
