[ Jesper's heard of many stories from Julie's country and world and he finds it utterly fascinating. He did see a glimpse of some of the patriotism in her July party last year and she's explained the general idea of it a few times. The technology he probably would love, given the chance, he's looked at Shepard's world with the same wide, hungry eyes as anywhere that is advanced like that.

He nods though, he may not have ever experienced what she did, but it sounds familiar. It sounds like what he's heard from Ravka and Fjerda, how they have to see themselves.

He knows Julie well enough to see that something bothered her about all that, although it could be anything about this situation. She's one of his best friends in his life, so he is always paying close attention to her mannerisms. He almost instinctively leans closer to her, trying to subtly give comfort, something to lean on whenever she needs. ]

One of the powers I suddenly got here was super hearing. It was pretty terrible in the start, but Geralt walked me through it.

[ Jesper's genuinely grateful about that. They may not be close, but the witcher does strike him as someone that can be counted on, which is why he begged for his help. In his fear, he knew who could help him, and Geralt showed up for him, he chose to be there. It meant a lot to him. ]

Every time I get arrogant about how oh if only I was there, I would've fixed all of it, I remember how many dangerous people we have. And these assholes got around it.

[ Jesper can't help imagine saving Mat, being the hero he promised he would be. And he did find him on the mountain like he promised, but he knows of course that if he'd been down there, he wouldn't have been able to save them. Not any more than Geralt could. He glances over at her with a smile. ]
