WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
Welcome to Solvunn! Bright suns and merriest of welcomes to you! The portal opens in a vast field on the western side of town surrounded by cattle, with a distant view of the bustling marketplace. The first impression of the settlement is one of idylic, country charm. There are no looming structures or crowded streets. Instead, there are cozier houses on wide streets and community buildings made of stone and wood. A gentle breeze rolls across the field and the sun is high in the sky.
There's not as much magic here as in other locations, but it's there. No one will be stopped from entering Solvunn, though suspicion will be cast upon new arrivals. Citizens will be friendly and welcoming, but curious about their new visitors. It isn't often that they welcome new folks- especially not so many at once!
With tensions between the other communities, Solvunn will not be keen on ratting out those who fled Thorne, but with the knowledge that sanctuary will not be given for free. Everyone does their part, whatever that part may be.
Asking questions will result in being told to find Rowan March, one of the council members, somewhere in the marketplace.

Regarding Link with a nod, he offers his hand to shake. ]
Aye, it's been a fair year, means my kids have plenty to graze on.
[ Ignoring the fact that these goats aren't actually young enough to be considered kids. Let a goat dad live. ]

By the favor of the gods.
[ If there is one thing Link has learned from his time traversing Hyrule without his memory, it's how to listen and adapt wherever he goes. The Zora are as exuberantly prideful as they were optimistic, the Gorons warmly call every friend and neighbor their 'brother'... and the people of Solvunn are incredibly devoted and thankful to their gods for their fortunes. It's a sentiment Link can understand, given his own faith in Hylia's purpose for him.
It would seem this world's gods and goddesses had paved the way for their arrival in Solvunn, too. He's had his doubts about leaving Thorne, but - ]
That gives me hope for our future here. I'm Link, a traveler from Hyrule.

Our future. The dedication is certainly welcome at a time like this. ]
Blessed days to you, Link. Is Hyrule much the same as our humble community?

The Hylians of this age seem to huddle close together to better defend against the monsters that wander beyond the wilderness.
[ He doesn't want to sound too eager here, but... ]
Do you see many monsters around here?

[ He rubs over his jaw as he heaves out a sigh. ]
Not too many, but a beast is a beast, and they don't know boundaries as we do. Normally they don't roam too close to our settlements, but the road in between is a different story.

It is... nice to be in an atmosphere more familiar to him than another kingdom's castle. This is likely just what Link needed after the starling reminder of just how far from home he is after nearly witnessing an execution. ]
Oh?
[ What a curious sigh. But, Link nods in understanding. There may be travelers in need of his skills.
Too confident for beasts he has never seen, perhaps? Nah. ]
If I can get a decent sword here, then I can promise your roads will be well protected.

[ He'd hate for Link's first trip out to end in disaster. Not that he knows about his skill level, but he knows what the roads are like. ]
I've heard of others wanting to take on the same task.

Let the others talk of politics and all the confusion surrounding the Singularity. Link now knows exactly what he needs to: where to get a sword and somewhere to make himself useful with it. ]
I'll be in the smithy's debt, then. Thank you, for your help.
[ He gives the man a polite bow of his head. ]

[ He gives Link a two-fingered salute. ]
