WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
WELCOME TO SOLVUNN!
Welcome to Solvunn! Bright suns and merriest of welcomes to you! The portal opens in a vast field on the western side of town surrounded by cattle, with a distant view of the bustling marketplace. The first impression of the settlement is one of idylic, country charm. There are no looming structures or crowded streets. Instead, there are cozier houses on wide streets and community buildings made of stone and wood. A gentle breeze rolls across the field and the sun is high in the sky.
There's not as much magic here as in other locations, but it's there. No one will be stopped from entering Solvunn, though suspicion will be cast upon new arrivals. Citizens will be friendly and welcoming, but curious about their new visitors. It isn't often that they welcome new folks- especially not so many at once!
With tensions between the other communities, Solvunn will not be keen on ratting out those who fled Thorne, but with the knowledge that sanctuary will not be given for free. Everyone does their part, whatever that part may be.
Asking questions will result in being told to find Rowan March, one of the council members, somewhere in the marketplace.

He nearly drops the fishing pole - which sends him flailing wildly in an attempt to recover both it and his balance before they both tumble into the water.
Fortunately, both fishing pole and Hylian end up in the dirt instead. Unfortunately, then he notices he's toppled over the little pot of bait worms and they're wiggling away. ]
Wah -

He spots her and, like a startled fond, he's immediately floundering. She wonders if announcing herself might have been the better answer after all. She watches him wobble this way and that way, trying to center himself without dropping his pole.
She approaches as quickly as she can as she watches him fall. She winces sympathetically when his butt hits the ground.
She, too, doesn't notice the bucket he'd been standing by has disappeared from her view and only sees that it's tipped over when she gets close enough to him. The guilt is there and it is big. ]
Oh, the bait! Let me --
[ Is it okay to grab worms? Is she really WILLING to grab worms? Perhaps nabbing up worms in her hands is her just desserts for having startles him in the first place?
She gets closer and gets down on her knees, nose wrinkling as she starts trying to catch some of them. Trying being an operative word. ]

[ Link experiences a brief moment of uncertainty. Is it okay for him to just let a lady handle his worms? It certainly isn't chivalrous, though Princess Zelda had never given him the chance to even think about nabbing slimy frogs on her behalf. She did the field work herself.
But he sees now that this isn't Zelda. He hasn't seen the Princess in a very long time, but he knows every tone of her voice by heart.
And in that case, the lady shouldn't have to touch worms. ]
Please -
[ Link gestures to implore her to sit (in the dirt??) before he then scrambles to gather up the wrigglers into quickly his filling hands.
They're not exactly fast, but there's a lot. ]

Gross.
She looks up at him when he speaks to her and frowns, moving back a bit as he takes over. It's his bait... maybe he's worried she will squish them or at the very least, lose half of them. She's an impulsive person, so it made sense in the moment when it felt like it was her fault, but... ]
I'm so sorry.

Whether by instinct or just coincidence, Link already has her pegged as something of a 'princess.' The shake of his head is deferential. ]
It's my fault. I shouldn't have startled.
[ He wears a small frown that suggests this is embarrassing to admit. ]

No, no, I should have left you alone when you were concentrating. I just haven't really ever fished before... I guess I thought I might be able to figure it out a bit if I watched.

You want to learn?
[ He looks over curiously. Based on her appearance and composure alone, it doesn't surprise him that she wouldn't ever have fished before.
He scoops up the last worms that he can manage backinto their container.
He is polite, but matter of fact: ]
The only way to learn to fish is to do it.
