[ yennefer knows that it hardly means much - a gesture more than anything, considering all things made and built up in the horizon are limited only by the imagination and connection to the horizon of the person who wants it to be made.

still - she does it all the same, a small package and a bottle of cintran wine left at the doorstep to her cabin. a simple card that says, in yennefer's easily recognizable scrawl, happy birthday. and inside the package, a gold necklace. under said necklace is another note, in that same scrawl, that simply states says we should meet in nocwich when you are next willing to travel there.

it's simple, hardly anything all that impressive, but she leaves it for ciri and disappears from the domain moments later. ]

[ Yennefer received a note in her domain in response.

I'll be there.

Ciri happens to already have plans to visit Nocwich regardless, considering Sephiroth's idea for a gift for her. She makes a point to stop a bit in Oleuni Square before they head off to the Arcanis, leaving Sephiroth to fend for himself for an hour or two while she reaches out to Yennefer to find her location. ]

[ yennefer does receive the note, and when it comes to her own plans in nocwich, it's quite easy to adjust accordingly. she frequents the square whenever it's open, needing to be out of the castle as much as she possibly can and explaining that the supplies and materials she can pick up in oleuni are invaluable.

it also means that she becomes quite used to the ways in which she's watched while she's there, members of the queen's court who join her errands, which eyes follow and which eyes are only interested in her coin. it's also why she knows exactly what she needs to do to escape them, too, and her paranoia has become almost second nature by now.

which means that she's already escaped into the gambling dens - run by vampires from ikorr that yennefer has already gotten on their better side. she's got a private room in the back that she slips into without being noticed, to have a drink and settle, and when ciri reaches out that is the exact location that yennefer gives her. ]

[ Trust Yennefer to figure out how to get them both a private room and a very comfortable one, with plenty of amenities. Ciri finds the place without much difficulty, and she's hardly the type to be skittish about things like gambling parlors or vampires.

When she finds Yennefer, Ciri greets her with a smile, closing the door behind her tight. ]

Good evening, Yennefer.

[ yennefer is already relaxing by the time ciri makes it inside, her glass already half empty. she looks up to the open door and smiles when ciri steps inside, sitting up in her seat. ]

Evening, Ciri. [ she gestures at the table, to the bottle and the extra glass. sitting next to both is a small wrapped box with a satin ribbon. ] And happy belated birthday.

And to you, as well.

I received your gift in the Horizon. It was a lovely piece. [ She reaches for the box, curiously, clearly wondering if it's the same. If the one in the Horizon was a preview. ]

You needn't have gotten me anything else. [ But she isn't about to not unwrap it. ]

[ yennefer merely smiles and gives a snort nod when ciri makes mention of her own birthday. because she's a bit more interested in ciri's here, and the present she's brought along with her.

she gestures to the box with a soft chuckle as she takes another sip of wine. ]

Horizon gifts are hardly much at all; you deserve something physical. Go ahead.

[ when ciri does open the box, she'll find it's the exact gift that yennefer had given her in the horizon. ]

[ In truth, she'd been kind of hoping it was a preview. The necklace was lovely.

It may not be a surprise, but Ciri's excitement at seeing it in person seems genuine. She beams, pulling the jewelry out of its box to examine it in the light. ]

Oh, Yennefer -- it's even more beautiful here! What elegant craftsmanship!
