"Yes, a vessel. A very foolish idea, but she was a fanatic, she wasn't thinking rationally." It seems obvious that if a god did decide to do that, she wasn't aware of how it would probably scoop her out like she was nothing. It wouldn't be the experience she thought it would be. These are the types of things many worlds go through.

Istredd nods. "That is exactly what she wanted. She was very hateful toward us, she thought we didn't deserve the connections we had. As if any of us asked for it either." To the Singularity, to this sphere. Istredd himself does want to be the connected to the Singularity, he craves that closeness to powers greater then himself, but that doesn't mean any of them had a choice. But it was like the situation with the heralds. That happened to them. No one wanted it.

"I don't think it's possible for anyone from this world to take our connection. But whatever was done to all of you, the end result did force those visions. We are connected in some way to the gods, maybe through the Singularity." He has been suspecting this for some time. He has talked to Geralt about this before, but he's not certain if he told her.

"Kyle, a man from Thorne, has speculated that some of the gods were like us once. Thousands of years ago, there was a Summoning, and it went wrong somehow. The mage who did it was exiled to Solvunn. Details are lost to history." The center of the god worship is Solvunn so there are reasons to think that. "It is speculation, but if it is true, they would possibly have a similar connection to the Singularity. And maybe to us."

"No, I believe everyone said it felt like it came at the peak of the effects of the ritual. Probably exactly what Josselyn and her people were hoping for. I think what they wanted to do was see if they could cause the vision, and then they would try to find a way to cut that connection out of us. They had plans for us that never came to fruition, we saw that after you all escaped and they brought us to altar rooms."

Istredd doesn't know if she knew others that stayed behind, but they saw that there were binds and things like that, indicating they had plans to do more things to the people captured, until the escape happened. They no doubt were going to do those things to the people remaining, except the rescue happened so quickly after.

"The mage founded Solvunn." The center of all this religious theory, which would fit in with the idea they have that those ancient Summoned became something more to the people in Solvunn. "No, there are no details about the Summoned, just that something went wrong and I think the crown would state the Summoned back then were dealt with. But. Theoretically. I think they went with that mage. And the reason the heralds wandered through easily through the Horizon and corrupted our time in it is because they are connected to the Singularity too."
