[He doesn't mean that in a disparaging way, necessarily. Altaïr is aware that it's within the realm of possibility that the native Abraxans who brought them here have been as honest as they claim to be. But it's in his nature not to assume such straightforwardness. In his experience, it's unlikely.

He shrugs.]

It may be a moot point, given that we are here regardless. Certainly there are greater concerns on a day-to-day basis. But I do wonder.

Me too. It feels like we're missin' a lot of pieces to a lot of different puzzles, and this seems like it might be important to a lot of 'em.

[Considering how central it is to why they're here, and why others might be interested in them, like the cult. But he's also entertaining the possibility that there might not be a reason at all, or one that leadership can't necessarily articulate, which would also tell them a lot.]

[An apt way to put it. And for the time being, they have no way of knowing which pieces belong to which puzzles.

Which means, as always, they'll have to be patient. Not his favorite thing.]

Then I hope we can share them as we find more of the missing ones.

Yeah. I've been thinkin' about that, actually.

[He hesitates a moment, having not really talked much about the idea he's been considering just yet, but might as well start.]

When it comes to the pieces we do have, it seems like different Summoned have different ones. I've been wonderin' if it might be useful to have some sort of formal information sharing and gathering process, so we can all work from the same knowledge base, or at least a more similar one.

[He almost thinks he knows what Jayden is going to say before the hesitation ends. It fits with what he and Steve have already talked about — what they need to know that they don't, how they can learn more without making it obvious...]

The Horizon and out mental connection outside it would aid us in that — not just sharing, but concealing anything we don't wish to be public about.

[Of course, any of the Summoned could betray confidences using non-magical means. A certain amount of trust is required.]

Yeah, that's somethin' I was wondering about. I don't really know what's secret and what isn't.

[Which is just one extra level of confusion on top of everything else. It does seem like it's better for the Summoned to keep things as close to their chests as possible in general, but Jayden isn't certain if even mentioning certain things publicly might be giving away too much.]

I don't know that anything is yet. We may know it when we learn it.

[Historically, he defaults to keeping all knowledge close at hand and sharing with no one but his master and the rafiqs of the Holy Land. Clearly the same approach won't work here.]

In the meantime...we watch, and wait.

[He's not necessarily disagreeing, he just kind of dislikes having to react rather than be proactive. But that's also partially because he's had a pretty terrible set of things to have to react to since arriving.]

What about the Horizon? Does anyone but the Summoned know about that?

I assume so. I've never had a conversation with a native about it, but I don't know that anyone's tried to hide its existence.

[He's not even sure they could. It predates his arrival here.]

Our access to it may be one more reason they think of us as important.

Yeah, if the leadership knows about that, I think it'd definitely play into that.

[The belief that they're important, or meant for something special. It certainly sets them apart, anyway.]

I guess that's somethin' to ask the others about too. See if we can get an idea of who knows what about us.

It would be a worthwhile effort.

[Or possibly not, maybe it would come to nothing, but he'd rather pursue knowledge and find only frustration than tie himself up with endless what-ifs.]

But for now, I should be on my way. [He nods at Jayden.] I hope we'll have the opportunity to speak again soon.

[He means it, offering a small smile and awkward little wave of farewell.]
