( At this point, Jack's pretty much gotten used to the whole step on your throat and make you apologize for scuffing her boots vibe Yennefer puts out. It doesn't bother him or even really occur to him that she completely ignored the question, it's kind of par for the course. If she didn't ignore like half of the stuff he says she'd have strangled him to death months ago, probably.

Now, he just shrugs noncommittally. )

Probably about as well as my body handles anything, I guess.

( Begrudgingly, consistently bordering on unhealthy but refusing to ever actually die. Which is... good? Good enough?

Yes, you are. Which is...no small feat.

[ which is....almost strange, coming from her. could almost be considered a compliment - in his ability to survive, in the fact he's up and walking. he would not have been one she would think would have survived the pit itself, and perhaps, maybe, his ability to survive is something she can recognize, and be mildly impressed with.

and then yennefer pauses, her eyes on him narrowing briefly. it looks almost as if a thought has occurred to her in real time, something she hadn't considered until he stood before her now. ]

And what about your abilities? They were limited while you were down there, as I've heard, but they've returned too?

( Wait, was that... was that a compliment? From her? Wow, he can't remember if she's ever given him one before β€” at least, not one obvious enough for his damaged, useless brain to process.

Wow. That's kind of nice. Cool.

At her question, he nods easily. )

Yeah, I could pretty much only make coffee and fuzzy worms while I was down there. Oh- and Water Willies. But once we got out of the cave, it came back pretty quick.

( He tips his head in the direction of her Last Minute Not-Wine Gift. )

I made that on the way here, and- actually, I think they might have gotten stronger? I accidentally made Rita, and she hasn't disappeared in... weeks, so I guess she's just permanent.

[ honestly? she probably never has. or if she did before, it was so layered and complictaed he might have missed it.

for now, though, she does listen to his explanation of what he could manage while he was down there, her brow furrowing in that confused sort of way of hers where she doesn't care enough to ask, and doesn't really want to know. fuzzy worms and water willies? she doesn't need to know what they are to know that sounds just about right for something jack would be able to do.

and the not-wine bottle is impressive enough, at least in the simple fact it hasn't disappeared. or even faded. she considers it for another moment before turning her attention back to the idea, and therefore her line of questions to get there. ] And this 'Rita'- did you meant to make her permanent? Or...permanent until proven otherwise?

[ a beat, and then yennefer realizes she doesn't really want to keep waiting, either, so she follows up with another question. ]

And if I told you to summon something specific, let's say...right now. Would you be able to?
