Looks friendly. Who could walk past a call like that?
[ He glances around at the emptiness but doesn't ask what he wants to ask. ]
Any idea when you'll make a decision? Can check back whenever, or you can—
[ Blake gestures at his head. He's not a fan of what he's been calling "brain texting," but won't deny it's better than sending a courier or a letter. ]

[She does not, predictably, reside here in the real world, but that goes without saying, he thinks. (There is, however, a resident lab cat. Blake might see her around, if he stops by with some frequency).
Viktor looks momentarily confused, because he certainly hasn't been considering this any kind of formal job interview. He needs enough help around the place that he can afford to be less discerning than he might ordinarily be. Blake has never given him any indication that he's untrustworthy or incompetent, so he's willing to take a chance.]
You can start tomorrow, if you like.

He nods, finally, not allowing himself to get too far off track with his thoughts, eyes only briefly searching for the feline before focusing again on Viktor. If the last couple of months have taught him anything it's that he needs to be flexible because his attitude is not always tolerated, nor are these fits of quiet where he wants to act more than think. So, he smiles a little and tips his head in further acquiescence. ]
Sure. Can do.
[ Requirements — safety gear, if any — will probably need to be discussed, but Blake doesn't possess enough clothes to be picky about attire, so he'll have to make do with what he's got.
(He thinks of his first job flinging pizzas, the way the work had followed him home in floury handprints and cornmeal in his shoes. It's a lasting reminder of hard work. He doesn't mind it so much. Hell, he kind of prefers it.)
This is good. This is a start. ]
Thanks, boss.

[Blake will find that Viktor isn't particular about when he comes or goes--he always seems to be in the workshop, regardless. It's possible he'd rather not have any employees at all, but he's nothing if not exceedingly pragmatic.
He'll offer Blake one more piece of advice, however, before he leaves.]
Don't call me boss.
