[ When it comes to work, of course Eddie is going to opt for the easiest task possible. He doesn’t particularly feel like hunting down spriggans, but there’s no real heavy lifting involved in entertaining kids and old timers—and he isn’t going to be forced to frighten off a bear like he was last time. And considering he isn’t afraid to make a fool of himself, he’s honestly just good at it.

Armed with a bag of curios and one of his guitars slung over his shoulder, he isn’t sure when he gained Nanaue, but it looks like they’re working together now, and that’s not a bad thing. Kids love the bipedal shark man, even if Eddie does expect to lose him somewhere along the way. He’s noticed that he tends to be easily distracted, so he does his best to keep him interested. ]

Here—

[ When they reach the first school in the Primary Settlement, he pulls one of the butterfly flutes out of the bag and offers it to his companion. ]

You liked my music, right? Want to play a duet?

[ Eddie loves music. It comes as easy to him as something like breathing, so he doesn’t immediately notice when Nanaue stops, but the strange popping sound pulls him out of it. He finally pushes his hair out of his eyes to take a look, and he bursts into laughter to the point that his fingers fumble and he drops whatever beat he’s managed to keep between himself and Nanaue. ]

That’s a good look on you, Nanaue!

[ He struggles to get his rhythm back, but between the hair and the kids who have managed to form a little mosh pit, he keeps shaking with laughter. So he hands the reins over to Nanaue: ]

Alright, go in for a flute solo and we’ll stop these kids from killing one another.

[ Nanaue takes the encouragement to heart. Solo? Yes. Finally. It is his time.

As it becomes too difficult to headbang and flute at the same time, he concentrates on the latter: which, in practice, means he's blowing as hard as he can into it for one, very long, very LOUD note. His gills flutter with the effort, and it almost seems as if the color of his scaled cheeks is shifting with the effort, but he has massive lungs (presumably, who can say what the anatomy of a manshark really looks like within). Some of the children have stopped moshing to cover their ears. A dog or two have come bounding over to investigate, too.

And then the note very abruptly cuts off as... he accidentally flattens the end of the flute in his mouth. ]

Solo. [ He declares, looking at Eddie. ]

[ Eddie just laughs and lets Nanaue shine, and he finishes off the whole experimental piece with one last staccato strum. ]

Killer solo.

[ He takes a quick bow, then steps aside to turn the attention all to Nanaue. He claps for the shark-man, encouraging the children to do so as well. They do, though some seems very puzzled by what they just witnessed. ]

Now you too can be rockstars, just like Nanaue—

[ Eddie produces the bag of flutes and begins to pass them out to the children, offering a handful to Nanaue to do the same. ]

[ Nanaue, meanwhile, is chomping on what's left of his flute.

He uses his free hand to take the rest of the instruments, though. These he will hand out instead of eat. ]
