[If that's the case, then Viktor could probably point him in Matt's direction--but excuse him for sounding a little confused, probably because he hasn't exactly thought about incorporating that into his business before. Astarion leans into his space and Viktor instinctively leans back, gaze flicking just briefly to the fangs and back again.
Of course, he doesn't want to make any assumptions.]
I don't know. I'm not sure I have much of a need for that kind of consultancy.
[It's not a no--more of a chance for Astarion to make his case.]

You said you have operations in Aquila and Cadens - with potential to expand? The law of this land seems - [ he makes a kind of limp-wristed waving motion with his hand ] ... wishy-washy compared to what I'm used to. But say you need permits for additions to any of your buildings, assistance dealing with annoyed neighbors in the case of noise complaints or explosions, transactions with suppliers... I could free up so much time for you to do more of - [ he points to the book ] - whatever else you'd rather be doing.
[ Innovation or whatever. ]

[Viktor is only one person, who is not actually interested in running a business. Claude has been helpful in that regard, especially when it comes to Aquila. Perhaps once he had thoughts of bringing his work to Nocwich as well, but all of that sounds like too much effort to manage, especially given what he’d rather be doing (inventing in his workshop and not talking to anyone at all).
So it is tempting, of course, to foist more of what Astarion describes on to another person. Whether that person is Astarion himself, well. Viktor is not necessarily convinced, and will say as much.]
I don’t know you. [A simple statement of fact. This entire conversation has been brief, all things considered.] It would have to be on a trial basis, to start.
[If only so Viktor can determine whether or not this guy is full of shit.]
a wrap?
The name's Astarion. [ He gives another cat-like grin, but doesn't offer his hand to shake on it. ]
I promise, I won't disappoint.
[ At the very least, Viktor will find the rat population dwindling on his street. ]
