[ He whines as Sam scoops him up and moves him, but he doesn't do anything to stop him as that'd just physically hurt them both and make it awkward. Jesper is skinny as a stick despite being one of the most active people out there (and eating constantly), and part of that is how much his powers seep out of him. They feed on his energy, which he has a lot of, but everyone has a point they have to stop.
He also mostly gives in because he knows soon Steve will be sneaking Sam away so Jesper and Mag can pull off their secret plan to give Sam the kind of suite he deserves. He's been humble as per usual and didn't take anything fancy, but he can't say no once they've put in all the work to make it right for him. And Mag can remind him that she agreed to the rest of the inn so he has to agree to this. So Jesper needs to be ready for that, it'll require a lot of focus to get it done by the time Sam gets back. ]
You're the worst.
[ He says with a grin, knowing all too well he'll get to see Sam's face light up soon enough. Muahahhaha. When Sam gets him into his room he'll sit up though, but he isn't doing it to argue, he's taking off his shoes since his father taught him better than that! ]
This is going to be so beautiful when it's done. Mag even reluctantly said it was 'good' today.
[ Which is a victory. ]

[ sam finds himself needing to put actual effort into not thinking about aj and cass. that it takes energy, specific energy, not to feel the full body memory of carrying those boys upstairs when they were still young. jesper is anything but small, probably twice their height and weight, but the feeling is still there.
and he's glad jesper doesn't fight him, because he is fairly certain he would lose that fight if it came down to it, and the last thing either of them need is a potential injury when they're this far through the construction.
sam is completely oblivious to any plans that may or may not be happening and instead focuses on the fact that jesper actually appears to accept his fate, which means that sam's hosting tendencies are kicking in - setting jesper down on the bed, quickly backtracking to the kitchen to get some water and pick up a few things sam knows he'll need later that day in his projects.
the mention of mag pulls a bark of a laugh from sam. ] She did? The woman has only given me grief since we started. She keeps complaining about all the sand we're tracking in... but if she said good, man. We're really winning her over aren't we?

[ The inside is obviously more difficult for her to accept because it's her inn and her home, but she's approved of all the plans. Just very, very, very, very reluctantly. It was satisfying to see her look at the patio of a kind they'd put together and reluctantly seem accepting of it. She may even like it.
Jesper gets it though, there's a particular sort of person who doesn't like accepting help. Neither Sam or Jesper are great at it either. They'd always prefer doing it for other people, same as Mag, and that's probably why they managed to finagle an agreement out of her. Like recognizes like.
He shakes out his hands while he settles into a sitting position. They're what he does all his Grisha work with and get a little numb after too much use. Since he basically modifies everything he touches on a molecular level, it requires a lot of focus, even if to him it feels completely natural. But he can barely feel his fingers at the moment, which means he's gone over the top. It's hard to see that when Jesper keeps going one more table, one more modification, and convincing himself it's no big deal. Other people might feel an ache from overuse, for him it's the opposite. ]
I wish there was a smoother way to get new Summoned here than hoping they hear word of mouth, or us trying to wait and look for them. They probably wouldn't let us put up a poster in the barracks.
