(Rimshot?)
"You are one hundred percent right and when I said that, blank stares." So yeah, she completely gets what he's talking about. Imagine trying to have that conversation with multiple people and being looked at like she's crazy. Except for Erik, who kind of got the idea, but he's older. "I permanently feel like I'm in a horror movie. But an arty one, so it's more creepy whispering than slasher." Which, in her opinion, is much scarier.
"They're definitely a cult, don't believe otherwise. They kept the ashes of the woman who was eaten by the bird god on display."

Dean snaps his fingers and points at her, declaring, "I knew it."
No matter how many times people from Solvunn insist they're totally not a cult, that's exactly the kind of thing a cultist would say. His pride at this victory immediately bleeds off his face, turning into a crumpled, low key disgust about the bird god lady ashes.
"Dude, seriously? That's, like... unnecessarily morbid. Why not just paint a big sign that says 'hey, we're M. Night level spooky'?"

Julia didn't expect herself to end up in a cult ever, although maybe in a way she should be preparing for it. She already started to get people praying to her without trying, so Our Lady of the Tree would likely have her cult sooner rather than later. It's disturbing but this is her life now.
"They also don't have money really, it's a barter system, which is why I'll take free drinks where I can get them." As he offered. "We're staying in people's houses and they worship us. Legit, Dean. They think we're special, there's this edge of reverence."

"That's... that feels weird. That's weird. How many autographs have you signed? Actually- don't answer that. Tell you what," He starts, his lips pulling back into something like a grimace. "Any time you're in Nocwich and you need a drink, just tell 'em to put it on my tab. I'll cover it."
He makes enough money, and it's not like there's much else he can do to help her out given her whole... situation.
sorry for the wait, stupid power outage ruining my sanity
It'd be even worse if they found out the truth about her, but she's hoping to sit on that a little longer.
"They seem like nice people, honestly, overall, but all we do is exist, so." Julia fully plans on doing very good and real things, hopefully, eventually, and if that leads to positive relationships with them, sure, great. But just existing in their space and being special, it's unnerving.
"It doesn't seem to bother other people as much, maybe my cringe factor is because I'm too genre-savvy." It could take a turn, basically. She smiles at him though, at the offer. "Thanks, I literally can't buy myself anything, I appreciate it. I babysit all day." So she's babysitting for free. Why? It's her own fault!
