Boosting the potions by taking the potions and then doing the spells, or doing the spell and then using potions to amplify them?
[ It's two separate but similar ideas, one by strengthening her, the other by strengthening a spell. They only recently had to work with a lot of potions with the dragons, whether it was to sustain them while the rest was figured out, or when a cure was finally found for them. ]
You should talk to Yenna when it comes to potions, she's an expert alchemist.
[ It's not that he thinks Wanda is any less of a talented witch, it's more that Yennefer has been doing it for 60+ years and it's one of her strongest suits. Plus it's good for Yennefer to have someone to talk to about these things. They talk about many subjects, but not everything. ]
You should look into getting a stall here some day, sell your wares.

It’s a bit of High Magic. [the use of the more ritualistic aspects of magicks in order to use said magic. she is by no means an expert, though she’s been dabbling a little, here and there.] I’ll see what works best.
[but the idea of getting to talk to yennefer about potions is not one she had considered, and it might in fact be a good thing to do. she will keep it in mind.
at the mention of getting a stall, wanda can’t help but make a face—panicked—for a moment, before waving her free hand about, as if to dismiss the idea.]
I don’t know if I want that kind of attention. I don’t really need the coins for anything, either.
[have a proper job? what is that?]
What has you coming around here?

[ Istredd has no ability to do that. He's been very curious about High Magic and looked into it in Thorne, or at least what little information he could find. But there really is no way to pull it off when there are no shrines, no divine calling, and he's fairly certain the gods stay where they want to.
He'd be very curious if he was in Solvunn and probably go looking, so he doesn't blame her for doing the same. They're both too curious and information-seeking. Istredd knows Wanda struggles with her past and her powers, so if it is something she wants to chase, he supports her. ]
I wish we could make more money, to be honest. I sold all my books a few months ago and it's difficult to replace.
[ Istredd is not used to being poor, especially considering he's living in a palace and poor. The Brotherhood usually gave him enough coin he wasn't rich, but he could get around. Istredd had to sell his books to give money to the widow of someone Lucifer got killed.]
Sometimes Lucifer and I come here to hunt. It gives him an outlet and we can sell parts. Not a lot, but something. It's also nice to get out of Thorne, it's always oppressive there.

maybe why she doesn't think it's a big deal to make coins with her magic now and then.]
Is it really that bad in Thorne?
[she's never had a clear, direct understanding of what it's like to live under the queen's thumb, as it were, other than what has been shared. it seems nightmare-ish, especially if istredd has to sell something so precious to him to make ends meet.]

[ Time may have passed, but two years is nothing. Istredd thinks that Thorne would absolutely do it again if they could get away with it, if they thought they could get an end result they wanted. He's been around repressive regimes off and on for decades now, he knows how sociopathic they can be. Especially if they ultimately don't believe the Summoned matter, given they're aliens they've captured into a fancy little box.
He wishes he could say they're not in any danger. It's exhausting to worry about everyone and try to keep people in line. He hates being that person, but it's always with group safety in mind. They can't afford someone to go rogue. ]
They're not very encouraging of us making money or having independence. It's possible, just not easy.
[ Istredd is too busy to get a job in a shop, he's already doing work in the castle as a teacher and occasional librarian. ]
I told Lucifer some time ago it's the difference between being captured and trapped.
