[ She understands that better than most others here, he thinks. When he first began sensing others' feelings, the sensation of being overwhelmed soon took over; it posed a threat to his own mind, his own emotions, and he knew that if he didn't seek solitude, and help, he would soon lose himself in his new ability, or assimilate emotions that were not his own.
