Ever oberserant she spots the slightest tug of his lips and the way his eyes light up. Height hadn't been an intimidating factor before but this certainly seems to soften him around the edges. Subtleties of appreciation and approval were things that she had learned how to look for at an early age. A life that brushed up against court life almost made it a necessity. Not that she particularly cared for decorum, but it was far more interesting than paying attention during her lessons. If she had to do it over again, she'd choose etiquette classes over the history of Crests any day.

It seemed far more applicable in situations like these. Little smiles - however brief - like the ones he'd given her are a clear sign that whatever she was doing was being well received and that she didn't have to course correct or be on guard for any particular reason. It prompts her grin to tug a little wider too. I guess it is - not that I've found it helps in anything I do in my life.

That's when she steps aside, sweeping her arms out towards the array of axes.
