[Aloy looks like she's about to say something, then thinks better of it. Perhaps this is more revealing than anything else. She huffs, and puts her hands on her hips.]

When you put it that way, I guess...

[But she's still not sure these fall into that category.]

These shrines aren't that old, are they?

[That's not the usual response he gets to describing his former profession — not that he did it a lot — but it's better than some reactions. He'll take it.]

I have no idea. That's one of the reasons I'm taking a look at them, but even then...hard to tell. Plus you never know how magic comes into play. For all I know they were created a year ago and someone whipped up a spell to make everyone forget they're that recent.

[And she can't really figure out why someone would want to do that, specifically, so probably the correct solution is probably the simplest one.

That said, she doesn't doubt that people have been buried out here for a long time, for one reason or another.]

And like a lot of work. If I had powers like that, it's not what I'd use them for.

[He shrugs and nods in an odd combination gesture. Yeah, it does, and he also doesn't think it's likely, but it's magic. He's not ruling anything out.]

[Okay, now she's being a bit ungenerous, because she knows what Nathan is getting at. And it would be useful, really, to be able to change the appearance of something.]

Might disguise my compound. Keep everyone out.

[Her answer gets a look, though. A clearly skeptical, oh-come-on-now look.]

[Seems both logical and useful to her!]

You wouldn't hang out with the other Summoned as much as you do if you hated being around people so much. You'd go even farther off the grid or set some deadly traps or something.

[He's got her number. Or, well, he thinks he does.]

There's a saying where I come from about the lady protesting too much.

I don't have to like you to want to keep you out of trouble.

[She sticks around to keep an eye on things, clearly. Maybe that's protesting too much, but Aloy makes no apologies for her setup, or its proximity to the Primary Settlement.]

But if you think I need more traps, I'll take that into consideration.

[He sounds soooo convinced. And actually a little perkier than he should when he hears about the traps.]

Let me know if you need help testing them out. I'm great at that sort of thing.
