( nocwich is closed. he doesn't really like that because it's become a habit to be able to see wanda every so often in person rather than in the horizon. but nocwich has closed its doors to them so this is what they have.
they haven't done much more than just lay in bed and talk to each other about nothing at all for awhile. and he knows that this probably would be similar to what they'd be doing in nocwich but it was different. as much as he likes the horizon and the ability it gives him to see wanda, he still prefers the real thing.
but, he'll take what he can get. matt stretches his arms above his head, fingers curling around the headboard before turning his head down towards wanda. )
I'm not planning on getting out of this bed while I'm here.

[ The Horizon is still this strange, dreamlike place for him that he doesn't entirely trust. But with the weather becoming erratic in Thorne, it becomes more and more difficult to spend time outside the castle walls leaving him few means of physical escape.
Which is why he ends up turning to the Horizon.
His meandering shows him that the Summoned really are from different walks of life. Not that he hadn't gathered as much before thanks to various conversations with Summoned - but there's something to be said about seeing it. There's buildings he's familiar with, and then buildings that seem like something plucked right out of Thorne. And then there's...this somewhat average and antiqued looking apartment block.
He doesn't mean to accidentally break into the building. The sudden flood means that he has no choice but to scramble up the fire escape to avoid the rising waters. And it's not his fault that the window to the only loft that has a light on inside is the easiest ("easiest" meaning he shoves it open with only just enough force) to open.
The window slams shut behind him just as he steps inside, drenched and dripping looking like a Klatooine paddy frog. The window slamming shut is enough to distract him from the presence of a person entering the room and he whirls around surprised. ]

...Hi.
[ Hilda hadn't realized how much she relied on Nocwich to see her friends in other territories until it wasn't available to them. The absence of her friends at the beginning of the month had left her in more of a delicate state than she had expected. Surprising, considering she thought she had grown past her neediness but maybe the neediness was indicative of how much she cared.
Which is why she doesn't hesitate to spend time with Wanda in the Horizon. It's a small consolation prize but one that she doesn't take for granted. Even if the weather is absolutely abysmal outside.
They're dressed in comfy clothing catching up when Wanda brings up her new hobby. She peers curiously over the top of the couch at the colourful little jar cradled in Wanda's arms. ]
Obviously! Don't keep me waiting.

[ The best question to ask here is how did Nebula of all people get roped into this? At least, that's the question she's asking herself. ]
[ She knows why she'd agree — even if she'd never admit it aloud. Nebula doesn't know much about children or how to be gentle in the least. Of all the skills that were sharpened, childrearing wasn't one of them. (Something she's woefully aware of and of her own concern - given Knowhere's newest circumstances). ]
[ She tells herself it's the fact she knows she can keep them on the ground from house-to-house if necessary and not that she cares if a child gets hurt at all. Even if right now is... They're safe. Happy. And she keeps to herself, watching the activities more like an observer than a body guard. Only speaking when some child pipes up asking her how something looks and she's quite a too second long time before saying 'it looks fine,' which was clearly not the enthusiastic response they wanted and so she kept quiet after that. ]
[ Cleaned up a mess here or there. Corrects tool holding. You know. Things she can do. ]
[ So when Wanda approaches with the egg she turns her attention at the offending item. No, offending wasn't the right word. Bewildering? For a lot of reasons. And she could answer no but she asks something else instead and it's not 'what's the point'? ]
... Is it normal to play with your food?
[ It is not, in fact, a condescending question despite the same serious way she says it - a quizzical note to it. Like she doesn't get any of it to begin with and a part of her might be insulted on what happened to the food (or the creature that would otherwise be born). ]

[ Cassian didn't know what part of him thought that the one apartment that was lit up wouldn't be occupied but it was clearly a stupid oversight on his part. So of course he doesn't blame the woman whose domain this obviously is would be more than a little startled (and maybe? probably? offended) that he'd unceremoniously and accidentally forced his way into her apartment. ]
Alyx.
[ Which isn't true - but that's the name he's been sticking to and that's the name he'll continue to give unless pressed. Sheepishly he gestures to the window outside where the rain continues to lash against the glass. ]
Sorry. I didn't mean break in. The water was rising quickly and the other windows wouldn't open.

Zagreus doesn't seem particularly bothered by the winds. They push at him just like they do everybody else, of course. But he doesn't seem particularly bothered by it. If anything, it's actually a rather new and fascinating experience for him!
But something has Wanda worried, so he stops when she approaches him. "I...don't know," he says. "What does a goat look like?"

I know.
( and he doesn't doubt it either. it's just sometimes that he feels it would be safer for him to not be loved or liked or even known by people. it would save so much trouble but he knows that convincing people of that is harder than it seems.
and matt knows that she can take care of herself, power upon power instilled in her body but he still worries. he just doesn't want to do anything to harm her.
he smiles, settling down a little and rolling on his side to better see her. )
I love all of you too.

We would.
[ Kahlil has not visited Wanda's domain as often as he did before it became a loft in a city. It might be because she shares this space with her man now, and Kahlil might hold on to some unconscious biases from his own world. Or perhaps he just doesn't like intruding.
Either way, he's brought Rousma with him today. She wears her dog skin and immediately begins sniffing around the edges of the room, inspecting what may or may not have changed since she last visited. He can't come to Horizon very often, but he tries not to leave her alone lately when he does. ]

Okay.
( okay. he takes a slow breath and rubs a hand over his face, trying to figure out where to start, what to tell her, where to even begin.
but, he's kept this from her for so long already. he needs to be honest. )
I don't — tell me what you want to know. Ask me a question. I just need...a place to start.
