inthenameofhades: (Thoughtful face)

Zagreus falls into uncommon silence for a moment. Should he really tell Achilles this? Especially after he just spoke of his own agony, of just how much he longed to be with Patroclus again?

But this was his mentor. The man who'd taught Zagreus so much. How could he keep his own story from him?

"I should warn you - while your story has a happy ending, your journey there wasn't without hardship for you. Because when you died...when you died, you had earned your place in Elysium. But Patroclus...Patroclus was sent to Asphodel."

The man Achilles loved, separated from him - seemingly forever.

"So you went to my father. You entered into a contract with him; giving your place in Elysium to Patroclus in exchange for your service at the House of Hades. And...for a long time, that's how things continued.

"But then I met Patroclus, deep in Elysium. Didn't even realise who he was to you, for a long time. But I learned what happened, and...I couldn't let things stay as they were. So I found your contact. Found a way to change it, with your help. You still served the House, but you could visit Elysium freely. You could see Patroclus again, and be together.

"So you should know - no matter how hard the road is, no matter how long it takes...you will see him again. You will have eternity together. He'll always love you, and you him."
