Yeah? Old men are complicated that way. [Travis did actually have an o-k-a-y youth in the sense that he didn't get beaten and his old man was sometimes present in some aspects and definitely never present in others like, say, his schooling.

He's got a scale of the older folk where he grew up though and his dad fell on a Reasonable point.] WHAT. Hey. I did not. [He quiets his trap though on account of hammers being swung again and this time he lets out a whoop of victory.] See! Easy does it. Hope it wasn't a fluke.

[ Eddie would probably place himself in that same category. It was fine…kind of. His dad wasn’t abusive or anything, but he was in and out—mostly out, always involving himself in another scheme to the point that Eddie was often left alone in an empty house for days living off of stale peanut butter sandwiches and flat pop. It’s not something he really dwells on much anymore, and hey—at least he had a supportive uncle to make up for it. Who apparently also didn’t teach him how to use a hammer properly.

Eddie just cackles beneath his breath as Travis tries to defend himself, and when he manages to actually hit the nail on the head, he cheers alongside him, grinning wildly. ]
