Who: Claire Fraser and OTA + closed starters When: mid July through mid August Where: Solvunn, Nocwich What: Digging up stuff, research and junk Warnings: none yet but will change if necessary
[ Claire trusts Eddie's imagination, and of course she'll have to start keeping honey candy in her pockets for the kids, just to keep up appearances. Hopefully, the older kids go with it too, at least for a little while to get the younger ones fully into the bit. They deserve some wonder, and not wonder bred from fear of the unknown, or what may happen next.
At Eddie's offer, Claire hedges just a little, unsure because she doesn't want to bring what sounds like a damn fine time, down. ]
That's an invitation I'm happy to accept, though I wouldn't want to be...well, the adult in the room fumbling my way through. Everyone should have fun—maybe I could observe only, at least the first time?
[ Eddie is an excellent storyteller, and the children have grown fond of the yarns he spins for them, listening wide-eyed to every ridiculous thing that comes out of his mouth. He never confirms what’s true and what’s false, the same way an adult might tell a child about Santa Claus. Let them believe. His little story about Claire and her bees will be no different. ]
I mean, you’re gonna have to out-fumble Harrington which is a real accomplishment, believe me.
[ Roping Steve Harrington into multiple games of D&D is something he’ll gloat about til the end of his days. Claire definitely doesn’t seem like his usual D&D attendee—but it doesn’t matter, because he’s eased up on that iron fist he used to rule his sessions with. Beginners are just too common here, and he doesn’t have any desire to scare them away when he just wants people to play and have fun. ]
Believe it or not, bystanders are welcome, so, uh…yeah, come watch. Consider jumping in. I’ll help you with a character sheet if you do.
i think we can probably wrap soon!
