it's not your act of creation
Who: Claire and closed starters + opens
When: September + October
Where: her house in Solvunn, the Horizon, will add more locations as needed
What: An open where Clarie discovers she can control bees (up to 30 ft), an option to bake bread or garden with her, eventual questing, a handful of closed starters and more!
Warnings: Will update as needed
Notes: Please feel free to match the brackets or switch to prose, tag with your heart. Assume wildcarding is on the table, just message me first or hmu on plurk @

this is fantastic, ty!
She's at a stall contemplating splurging with her gold and getting Jon a soft, deep blue scarf for winter, when she glances up and spots Matt just as he speaks her name. A smile tugs at her lips and she reaches out to squeeze his arm. ]
Matt, it's been some time. How are you, how's life in the Free Cities?
[ She's decided to buy the scarf, so she dips into her pockets, handing over the money, then waiting for the vendor as they chat. ]
no subject
( matt puts a hand over hers and gives it a gentle squeeze before nodding. )
Things have been as fine as they can be with everything going on. I can't really complain.
( or he could but he doesn't want to. )
How are you? It has been awhile. Glad I ran into you.

[ Claire wouldn't be surprised if Matt already knew that Wanda helped renew the bee population in the garden. Purchase made, she slips the bag over her wrist. ]
We should sit and catch up, if you have time. Coffee, tea, or a pub?
no subject
( he starts walking slowly once she's done, heading in the direction of a coffee shop he remembers. )
Sorry to hear about your home. I hope it was repairable. And I'm glad to hear that Wanda was able to help with your bees. I didn't know you kept them.
no subject
[ But she loves thinking of a person and building a tea around them, based on their personality and the way they feel to her. She walks with Matt, realizing which shop he's going to as they pass a storefront or two. ]
Repairable mostly via magic rather than hard labor, so that was nice. [ Claire can't help but smile to think of Wanda, humming when he says he didn't realize. ] I had no idea Wanda could do what she's done. I've learned quite a lot from her.
[ As they near the shop, she realizes she now has something in common with Matt and Wanda both, in that the person her heart is tied to, is in another faction. ]
If it isn't too intrusive to ask, how long have you two been together? I used to wonder how in the world people across factions do it, but now I am. And I still wonder.
no subject
( and, if not, he could gift it to wanda since he knows she likes tea and he wouldn't want it to go to waste. )
It's not intrusive. We've been together...I think it's close to two years now.
( damn. he blinks slowly. )
It took us awhile to find a way to see each other that worked for us but we use the Horizon a lot and get to Nocwich when we can.
no subject
[ Two years is impressive; she's nearly been here that amount of time now, and it feels as though it's gone so quickly. ]
I'm happy to find myself with Jon Snow after we spent those last few centuries together during the shared, collective glimpse into the future. Only he's in Thorne, and I feel as though the cosmic punchline to my life, is that time or distance will always separate me from those I love.
no subject
( he smiles at that. )
She also thinks I'd be bored which...she might be right. I'm not the world's most optimistic person so I get where you're coming from. It's hard and you miss the other person and it sucks when there's something bad happening and you can't do anything.
( which happens a lot in this place. )
But I try and tell myself it's better than not having her at all.
no subject
It may not be ideal, but I share your sentiment. Something is better than nothing.
[ But there is one big thing looming that she feels she can't ignore. ]
This war has me on edge. Jon's in Thorne, and I know he's capable, I do, but...Solvunn just doesn't seem to get the brunt of things in comparison to there, and the Free Cities.
[ For obvious reasons, it's their argument, but she wishes all the time she could get Jon there somehow. ]
no subject
( that solvunn seems to be spared some of the things that go on in the other territories. )
I think that just makes me anxious, though. That luck's going to run out for Solvunn and they'll get targeted when they don't expect it.
( he really does hope he's wrong though, he really does. )
no subject
[ She's always felt a bit inadequate in that way, but finally, she can match some of the others. Of course, her magic doesn't work on herself, but that doesn't matter much to her if it's saving others. ]
What I worry about more is what the council might be willing to do. Human sacrifice already made it onto the table, and we gained a new god out of it to protect our sea border. But what tops a willing human sacrifice?
[ She remembers the vision Michael shared with her, of Jocelyn plucking out a man's eyes for some sort of ritual. It most certainly hadn't been done willingly. How do they know there aren't any other rogue locals waiting to pull a Jocelyn all in the name of the gods? ]
no subject
( not that he really wants to guess on something like this and possibly give this world any ideas. )
Unwilling human sacrifice? Just grab someone at random and tell them that's what they're gonna do and give them no choice about it.
( at least a willing sacrifice had seemingly volunteered. )
