What: An open where Clarie discovers she can control bees (up to 30 ft), an option to bake bread or garden with her, eventual questing, a handful of closed starters and more!

This certainly isn't going to help her reputation, and she turns her attention back to Tegamr who stops moving when she does. Claire sighs heavily and attempts to soften. Walking toward him, she speaks over her shoulder at her misguided helper.

"The masks, as I'm sure you know, aren't meant to be worn. They cause...side effects." She looks to Tegmar, speaking to him. "I apologize. But you were getting a bit out of hand. That's not quite you, is it?" He seems to be considering, though he strains his head backward as far as he can to avoid the mask being taken away. He can't go far, and Claire awkwardly reaches out to begin untying the mask. Once it's in hand, she looks at the young man beside her.

"See? No help necessary." When she brings up a hand to lower the roots and let Tegmar go, he seems to wobble on his feet, then takes off in a hurry toward home.

"I know I've seen a glimpse of you before. You aren't completely new. What's your name?" She turns the mask over in her hands as she asks, wondering how something so seemingly benign could cause a personality shift.

Yeah he definitely over-reacted there. She was...pretty much fine. Or would have been if he hadn't interfered. The only damaged the woman sustained was a result of him. Eyeing Tegmar and sighing in relief when the man scurries off home, he's left somewhat alone with...a woman who could control vines or something? Cool. Chris reached over and opened up a bag he had been collecting herbs and roots in, in case she wanted to drop the mask in it.

"Do you think it's okay to be touching that thing?" He preferred to be cautious when dealing with.....potentially cursed objects. Or whatever that mask was. "I'm Chris, I haven't been here for long, no. Maybe we can find some ice or something for your lip?" Before all of her friends find him and string him up?

Still, Chris was counting his blessings. It had just been an elbow. So, nothing was venomous and no demonic acid or anything got spit at her! Still, he was the one whitelighter in the universe who couldn't do anything about it.

A part of Claire realizes he's young, and was simply trying to help, and so she attempts to shake off her annoyance.

"I think it'll be alright as long as I don't put it on my face." But nevertheless, she eyes him before dropping the mask into his bag. "We're going straight to the Council with this, Chris, let's go."

He inserted himself into her business, now he can walk with her and protect her from other wayward elbows.

"I'm Claire. You seem familiar with magic and potions and such. Does your world have some element of the supernatural?" She's curious, completely ignoring the comment about her lip. She's dabbing blood away, it's fine, and she uses a little bit of learned magic to vanish the stains dotting her top.

Chris begrudgingly accepted she was probably right, and holding the mask so far hadn't done her any damage. Still he was relieved when she dropped it in the sack anyway.

"Right. The Council. They can have this thing because....I really don't want it." He would have preferred get her some ice or something on the way but....he knew that look she had and that tone of voice and he kind of figured he'd have as much success trying to get his mother to stop to get ice as he would with Claire. So. Why bother trying?

"Uh....." Wow okay, how did he answer that question? He paused because...Chris' first instinct was to completely lie. But it wasn't like that would really go over well here. Besides, he already admitted it with the whole potions thing.

"You got me. I'm a witch. Half witch." That part was true enough. He just left out the other half. "And it looks like you have some magic yourself. Or did you get it here? That little trick you have there? Does that work on other stains too? Like demon guts or something?" He added quickly in case she got the wrong idea.

Chris is more astute than he gives himself credit for. It absolutely would not have gone over well if he'd tried to insist. And no matter what, she's found it's always good to have another witch in one's back pocket.

"I've learned magic since arriving here." She doesn't know, and never will for as long as she's in Abraxas, that she will eventually stumble upon her own healing magic, courtesy of the stones. For now, the Singularity is the source of everything she can do.

"You have a leg-up on some others, at least. For people like me, whose worlds are rather benign, magic being used so freely was shocking, to say the least." She'd thought, for weeks, that she was the butt of some cosmic joke. Nearly burned for 'witchcraft,' and now here she is, a user of magic.

(She doesn't know if she's earned the right to call herself a witch.)

"You can learn how to do quite a lot with the magic, and some specific abilities, like the plant magic, are more powerful. Gifts from the Singularity. If you don't have one already, you'll likely discover that you do soon."

Chris isn't that astute, he's just grown up with 3 strong women and has tried and failed at changing their minds multiple times. He'd grow into it with Claire. But for now? He was playing it safe. Until he was sure you wouldn't encase him in those vines.

"It was actually pretty shocking to see used so freely to me too. Crying witch isn't exactly a good thing where I'm from. It usually gets people killed." Being descended from a witch who was actually burned at the stake too? It was a shock. "It took a while for me to realize no one was going to like....come after me." Chris shrugged.

"But yeah, getting used to all this when you're not used to magic? Is wild probably."

He took in her worlds, and with them the realization that his own abilities could grow too. The very thing he had always wanted, and yet? It kind of made him uncomfortable.

"I haven't noticed anything yet but...thanks for the warning? I don't suppose there's any rhyme or reason to it? How long did it take you to get used to all the things here? And your own magic?"

That's interesting to know; one thing she's enjoyed immensely is learning about other people's versions of what she would consider home. "I'm assuming you're from Earth? Somewhere in the United States by the sound of it. ...If that exists in your world." She remembers a time when that question would throw her for an entire loop, but now it feels natural.

She touches her lip; still swollen but not bleeding. It likely won't be too awful, and at the very least, it wasn't her nose or eyes (again).

"When I first arrived I didn't want to speak to anyone trying to get me to understand this world. I stayed in my room, mostly. I also worried if I spoke too much about my experiences, I'd be sent straight to an asylum. But as I realized I likely had one of the least exciting stories here, it became easier to speak of. And then I slowly started to see how helpful the magic was, that no one was afraid of embracing it. Once I realized it could help me with the garden, I was sold."

She glances over at Chris, deciding not to leave him in suspense. "I've traveled through time more than once, which is a sentence that nearly had me committed in 1949."

Nearly two years ago, she refused to speak of her life to anyone. Now look at her.

"San Francisco. And by your accent I'm guessing England?" Since she had mentioned the United States he was going to assume certain fundamental facts, and hoped that England hadn't been renamed Mordor or something in her world. Listening, he realized that they actually had very similar experiences. At least on a surface level. He wondered how many people here did, coming from different words, and yet sharing something.

"Yeah, it's a little odd that no one's tried to have me arrested or tried for witchcraft or something. The only thing anyone's done is ask me for 3 character references -- but I'm told thats pretty normal for Michael."

Chris eyed Claire, his instinct telling him not to share but....she shared. It was really, really rude not to share too. Here. Where it didn't matter anymore. "I actually traveled through time too. A couple times. But only forward and back about twenty years or so." Unlike Claire, Chris regularly introduced himself like 'hi i'm from the future!' It was kind of amazing people thought he was sane and hopefully just joking. "How many years did you travel?"

"You have a garden?" Claire, he was really, really interested in your garden. But, he was also quite sure it was really bad manners to ask the woman you just got assaulted if you could play with her herbs and flowers.

"How wrong you would be." She smirks to herself, always glad to keep someone on their toes, but she glances at him, giving him a real answer.

"I didn't have a permanent home, growing up. I traveled with my uncle. I suppose I adopted his accent, but I'm not sure exactly where it's from. Somewhere in the North, maybe."

At the mention of Michael, Claire bursts into laughter that irritates her lip, but it's worth it. "Sorry, I'm sorry, I'm not laughing at you. Yes, that is typical of Michael. He's..." She presses her lips together, trying not to burst into laughter again.

"He's tough, but he's kind. He will never lie to make you feel better, and when you ask him something, he will tell you exactly what he thinks."

And he's her dearest friend, but she stops there.

"Time travel was a bit different for me. I went back, two centuries, on accident. then forward again on purpose." She doesn't elaborate; she may freely speak of some things, but there's no reason to get into the 'whys' with someone she doesn't know, and she won't. She'll talk about the garden all day long, though.

"Our time travel seems a bit similar that way, locked into a set time frame of how far back one can go. And yes, I do have a garden, a rather large one. And bees."

"It's alright. Laughter is probably the best reaction I can think of." Honestly, she hadn't shot, stabbed or threatened him and after he spent a year of having his own family tell them they hated him? Well, laughter was fine. And Michael? Honestly Chris just wasn't sure. He didn't have the best relationship with other angels, his own murder and daddy issues included, and Michael? He hadn't really gotten to know him before he asked him for three character references.

"I guess I'll have to take your word on Michael. I haven't really gotten to talk to him that much. But, it sounds like you know him kind of well." Most people didn't talk about people they were just acquainted with like that. Or maybe that was just the way Claire was?

"So you went back first accidentally?" Chris got a look on his face, like he was trying to compute how the hell someone accidentally time traveled. " How?"

And the garden? "Do you think I might be able to gather a few items? Not a lot. Just bits and pieces for some potions?" And bees? Was it too weird to see if he could ....recycle any dead bee parts? If she had any? That was weird right? But not burn someone at the stake weird?
