[ Another indignant squeak comes from behind Viktor, and while Batstarion is tempted to bite him he's fairly certain his tiny fangs won't even pierce his vest. ]

As Viktor's hand drifts too close he takes the opportunity to bite (1) purple fingertip. ]

No, I wouldn't.

[Viktor would never think to actively bully someone weaker than him--he knows what it's like. Still, he'd very much enjoy to not have Astarion-as-a-bat scrambling up his back.

The hand that drifts too close is, in fact, made of metal. He can feel it, of course, a little prick of pain, but the strange material of his fingers is probably equally unpleasant to bite.]

Stop that--you need to let go, or turn back. Preferably in that order.

[ His tiny fangs draw no blood from Viktor's purple 'flesh'. Disappointing! ]

Trust me, I would absolutely love to change back, but I've no idea how!

[ And he's definitely not letting go under the damn cat is gone. Viktor will have to do something about that first... ]

[There's no blood in there! A disappointment, to be sure. Viktor, for his part, does not seem to realize that he needs to shut away the cat, who is still slinking between his ankles, before the situation can improve.]

I would attempt to calm down, to start.

[And also, stop trying to bite him.]

He's going to scurry up to Viktor's shoulder so he can, presumably, climb down his arm and onto a table. ]

I didn't put you here.

[As in, Astarion clearly clambered up Viktor's shirt of his own volition, and Viktor has been trying to remove him ever since. Since it seems like they're making progress, he remains very still to allow Astarion to move from his back to his shoulder, not wanting to give him any further reason to remain clinging to his clothes.]

I won't let the cat get you.

[If he needs additional reassurance.]

[ Who wears this many layers in the desert!

He stays still on Viktor's shoulder for a few moments, calculating the distance between here and the table. Rather than use his arm like a bridge, he gathers the courage to make a flying leap - gliding the short distance to the center of the table, eyeing the cat from above.

His little feet grasp hold of a desk lamp, awkwardly swinging his body upside down. He ends up facing his back to Viktor, needing to shift his feet one after the other to turn around, wrapping his wings around his body. ]

This is... better.

[To Viktor's credit, he doesn't flinch, and he might even be impressed by Astarion's little glide to the lamp. With the immediate panic over, he is quick to turn his attention back to the more important thing--Astarion not being a bat. With some maneuvering, he'll bend over to scoop up the cat, hefting her into his arms and then very gingerly hobbling away so that he can put her in the back room and close the door behind her.]

Now you can concentrate on turning back.

[Because this...is awkward, to say the least.]

[ Unfortunately, the awkwardness is about to go on longer, because as Viktor returns, he will find that the tiny bat - so comfortable in his natural upside-down position, is now snoozing.

Being panicked is very tiring!! ]
