[Open] said that you wouldn't be able to come back again
Who: Majima Goro, OPEN
Where: The Free Cities
When: Anywhen. November I guess.
What: Majima runs around town. Discovery of his shadow powers. Misc.
Warnings: Violence, possible blood and gore, cursing. Will update if needed.
I. Cabaret Club Management
II. Around Town
III. Shadow Stepping
Notes: You may throw a wildcard prompt at me too if you want something else! I'm pretty easy and would love more CR, all the CR here. For wandering around town he can be doing almost anything or may find interest in what someone else is doing so toss me anything. For his shadow powers, violent encounters (against npcs) or non-violent encounters of him trying to perfect it are available, whichever you prefer. I'm also open to random network chats here if you would like! Whether from learning about his club or his growing rep around town from doing randomsubstories tasks and learning he's a Horizonwalker and asking him what the heck that's about--or, you know, whatever the equivalent of a buttdial is for a mental network--go for it!
And if you wanna ask me something PMs to this journal or catching me at

I. Cabaret Club Management
Running the cabaret was nearly a daily task. With Kiryu's gentle encouragement (and sometimes not so gentle encouragement which seemed to work better), Majima had more time off than he ever had back in Sotenbori working at the Grand. But his strict work ethics had him still spending an enormous amount of his time at the club. Perhaps part of it could be chalked up to the establishment being new and still working out the kinks. Majima was used to running two businesses on his own but now he had Kiryu to work with in that regard. It was both a logistical nightmare and a relief to have the other man as a partner this time around.
Either way, Majima spent a lot of time working. It was familiar and let him pass the days with fulfillment rather than disappointment that he could find no useful information.
On duty, he was often the first person guests met at the foyer where he greeted patrons with smooth words and a formal bow. His dress attire was also formal though guests were not bothered to be quite as stiff. After a few questions to determine preferences Majima would then escort guests to a table and assign a girl (or boy) that would, hopefully, suit ones tastes in pleasant company. After that he typically became background dressing as he kept up with the host/hostess's signals for food, drink, and other helpful things. This he did in between seating new guests though there were others to help with this as well.
When he wasn't on greeting duty or server duty Majima could be found near the bar, either watching carefully as the employees handled their jobs and taking notes or actually bartending behind the counter. He was fairly good as a bartender with quick, deft hands and an easy listener who didn't mind talking back. If he wasn't doing any of these things...it was probably because the club was closed for the day or late late night. In which case, he might be found jotting down notes on how to improve sales or encourage host/hostesses at their job, or working on the numbers directly.
II. Around Town
When he was forced out of the club to take time off, he wandered the streets of the city at leisure. There was plenty to do in the dregs of a city like this, but similar to Kamurocho and Sotenbori back home, Majima had pretty much seen it all at this point. Most of the time he was interested in very little beyond gazing at the sights and memorizing the city layout.
Occasionally he'd trip over something that held his interest. He could be oddly excitable whenever something amusing came along or even when something simple that he got caught up in happened. He was a drinker so he frequented bars, enjoyed competitive games such as darts, bowling, baseball, and much more, and any sort of equivalents he could find in these foreign lands. He missed karaoke so occasionally one could find him lamenting the lack of this pastime or trying to convince people that it was a fun "sport" to start up here in the free cities. (So they didn't have any machines for it here, who cared, it could still be fun to sing local songs!)
And just generally getting into trouble while out and about. From helping people find missing pets to watching after lost children while trying to find their parents, Majima tended to get caught up in all sorts of odd things whenever he had free time.
III. Shadow Stepping
When it came to actual trouble, Majima attracted heavy hitting foes more often than not. Maybe it was his general look and aura: that of a thug, only enhanced by his eyepatch and wiry strength of body. The one-eyed man had no qualms fighting the local punks and gang members when they got out of hand. If anything, he almost seemed to enjoy it. He was calm and precise as he battled, but quips and remarks tended to slip out during or after he swept the floor with his opponents.
However, one day Majima discovered a new surprise gifted to him from the Horizon. An ability he had yet to stumble upon until now. He had more opponents than he knew what to do with and while not exactly intimidated by the numbers as he often was out-numbered, he kind of wished he could be in more than one place at a time so he could take them out faster. That's when it happened: suddenly he was in more than one place at a time. Or more precisely, suddenly there was more than one of him on the battlefield. The copies were dark purple, almost black similar to his aura sometimes. Shadowy copies of himself. They moved independently without him having to command them which meant he had plenty of time to take his first foe by surprise even while one of his shadow copies moved towards a separate foe to throw him down.
The shadow copies lasted as long as the fight--which at that point, didn't take much time at all. Not only had he taken his opponents by surprise but his superior fighting skills made little work out of them. Especially as all of him held the same capabilities.
He was so curious at this turn of events he tried to replicate it in a deserted alleyway a few minutes later. However, the copies did not return while he was outside of battle. Instead he got a different kind of surprise. As he concentrated on the shadows ahead of him (as if he could make the copies walk of the shadows where he thought perhaps they were created) he instead ended up in those shadows. As in, he leaned forward and suddenly he was over there and when he turned around sure enough the space he'd just occupied was behind him. It threw him for a loop.
As he talked himself into just "getting over it, magic's real here" and deciding that he would use whatever he was given instead of thinking too deeply about it--he worked on trying it again. This power seemed to work just as well outside of a fight as within it. Soon Majima was shadow hopping all around town. And that's what it turned out to be as he practiced with it: if he could see a shadow he could teleport to it with a simple step. Of course, it took time to perfect. A few instances caused him to hop right into an occupied shadow by mistake, ending up much too close to someone else and awkwardly having to apologize for the sudden appearance in someone else's personal space.
