[To say the least. Viktor consciously appears as he does in the real world, but he can shift it at a moment--as soon as she has questions.
The council bombing seems unimportant, in the scheme of things, but he tells Ciri about it anyway, and the broad strokes of the political situation that lead there. How the only reason why Viktor was in the room at all was to make a bid for the Undercity's independence--his last chance at a legacy. How the next thing he remembers is waking up, in the laboratory transformed.
Different, given the relatively instantaneous nature of the augmentation, versus the slower, more patchwork one he enacted over the course of centuries, but pertinent all the same.]
I'm telling you this because...there are similarities. To what we experienced in the imagine future.
tyty
There are things she remembers that Viktor has shared with her over the years about his hopes, his work, the Hexcore. At first, she'd been afraid something had happeened there like it did here -- that his work was used to hurt people against his will. But then the story veers off into something... unexpected.
She begins to see the similarities as he goes into what happened to him, even before he points it out.
Ciri lets out a sharp breath through her nose, pushing away from the table. ]
But you didn't choose it.

[He'd been ready to die, and upon awakening had been angry with Jayce, for taking that choice away from him. Viktor knows that the time passed in the dream was only an illusion, but it felt like months, long enough for him to come to terms with everything.]
But had been my original intention. [To fully transmute himself.] I cannot blame him, for doing what he did.

I know. He wanted to save your life.
[ Her smile is barely there, more in her eyes than the curve of her lips. Viktor is being so matter-of-fact. He has that way about him.
Ciri meets his eyes. ]
I'm glad you got to see him again. Even if it wasn't here.
[ She has never experienced these 'dreams' herself, so she can only imagine what it must feel like. But she knows how the look in Geralt's eyes changed once he really, truly remembered her. That was real. ]
...what did you do? After that?

[Not with the precarious state of the two cities and not when Jayce had made more Hextech weapons. However either of them felt about it, if Viktor had remained in Piltover he would have been destroyed, or used as a weapon himself. His transgressions with the Hexcore had always marked the end of their partnership, one way or another.
Still, with his memories of this place returned to him, he can say he was glad to see him again.]
I went to the Undercity. I thought I could...help, there. With my new abilities. More than I could in Piltover.

Ciri presses her lips together. The smile is gone. ]
...why do I get the feeling you're not about to share good news?
What happened, Viktor? You can tell me.
no subject
[Viktor feels neutral about it, which is strange he didn't really experience this, as vivid as it felt--and no time has passed here.
But it felt real, and he knows he has access to his magic. It's only right that he's honest with his friends about the visions.]
It's similar. To the imagined centuries.
